I believe Jesus came to save all people from their sins. I believe there are no ethnic boundaries that may keep someone from believing in Jesus. Praise God that He loves all the different peoples He has created. God has given me a heart to share the Gospel with Muslims. I am Han, but many Chinese Muslims live around and in my city. I am not very confident when sharing, but I still try. I am finding that God blesses my efforts to share the Gospel with the Muslims around me who have never heard.

womanDuring one summer camp, I was partnered with a young women. Like most Muslims in my area, her family name is Ma. She had just taken the college entrance exam. She was very restless and anxious about her future. I took this opportunity to share a story with her about Moses’ sister and how brave she was to go up and speak to the princess. I shared with her that God blessed Moses’ sister with this ability to be stand bravely before the princess.

A few months later, I saw this young girl at a vocational school near my home. I believe God intentionally brought her close to me and that He wanted me to become her friend and share the Gospel with her. We were able to meet several times, and each time I would try to share truth with her. When we ate, I would pray over our meal. The fourth time we met, she asked for a Bible to read. I was so happy.

I decided to ask her to come to our Christmas party. She said yes. As the party approached, I was a little nervous that she would not be able to come. However, she called and asked if she could bring her friends. I said yes, but this also made me nervous since I did not know them. I was hoping to ask her at the party if she wanted to follow Jesus. I prayed.

After the party, I pulled her aside and asked her how she felt. She said, “Very good.” I asked her if she wanted to learn more about God. She said that she did. I got up the courage to tell her a little more. Then finally I asked her, “Do you want to follow Jesus?” I was hoping she would say, “I will think about it.” But she didn’t. She said, “I am willing!” I was not expecting this. I praised God!

I believe God brought Ma to follow Him in His timing. I gave her a Bible. She read the Bible and wanted to learn more about God. Soon after the party, she went home for winter break. I was worried that back home in the Islamic culture, she would be pressured to recant. But God protected her. When she returned to school, she told me she read the New Testament twice during her winter break. Praise God! God inspired her to read the Bible. I am helping her to learn more about the Bible and God. We meet and study together. She has attended house church with me.

Ma is very concerned for her friends and family. She worries about them because they do not know Jesus. She wants to tell them about Jesus. She wants them to experience the same wonderful life that she now has.

I pray that God will have mercy on her. I sometimes still worry that her family will hurt her because she follows Jesus. I worry they will give her to a Muslim man in marriage. May God provide for her and give her strength and courage in every situation. I know God is faithful!

Prayer Requests

  • Pray for God to fill Ma with wisdom and understanding. May she boldly follow Him and proclaim the Gospel to her family and friends!
  • Pray Han believers will develop friendships with Chinese Muslims and confidently share the Gospel.
