Ying and her husband own a local shop along the side of the street. She is a believer but her husband is devout to the Muslim faith. Her brother in law, only nominal in Muslim faith, stopped by their shop. When asked about his family, he explained that his middle school son is taking extra classes after regular school hours to help improve his test scores. Like many, he sees this as “the only way…”. This common thought brings to mind the story of the wide and narrow gates, found in Matthew 7:13-14. When shown this story in the Bible, the brother in law and husband were politely curious but nodded in agreement as they read the verses. A few verses led to the entire chapter.

“There’s something to this,” the brother in law said as he lifted his head from the Book.

The door was opened for an explanation of this scripture. Two Muslim men, both brothers and fathers, clearly heard about how they can take the narrow way.

Pray

  • Pray for Muslim men to seek the One True Lord and choose “the narrow way.”
  • Pray for families like this who have Christian influence in their lives.
  • Pray for the Christians in these families to walk in boldness in sharing their beliefs and still show respect to those still loyal to the Muslim faith.
