Day 26 – Grandmothers

Grandmother wasn’t sure where she would turn for health advice, care, and encouraging conversations now that her foreign friend was leaving. Everyone in her circle of influence had been encouraged or touched in some way, and the gospel was always shared.

“I’m not done with this story yet, leave me alone!”

I was visiting an area of town where I frequently go to see friends, knit, eat amazing local food and share Truth. These friends know I have a health care background so often save health problems to ask me. Not long ago it became clear that Grandma has the ability to read but can no longer enjoy books due to failing eye sight. Today I brought my flippers (a device to check vision) and an assortment of glasses.

God’s Perfect Plan – Using Healthcare Skills for the Advance of the Gospel

However, sometimes we also work. This time, I mean an actual job—something we are committed (or contracted) to, something that earns money, something that can actually pull us away from that other work I mentioned first.

I firmly believe that the Lord gives us specific skill sets that he intends to use for His ultimate purpose. He provides ways for us to improve and grow those skills. I can’t imagine that the Lord would plan our lives so specifically and then not put us in a position to use the gifts He has given!

Tats and Consequences

“The True God must really care for your son!” I approached my friend in his clothing shop to take some advice and medicine to him to help with a pesky rash his son had been battling. I had it all worked out – I was going to tell him about how I had been to a graduation ceremony, 50,000 people in attendance at a huge stadium, I looked up and there was an old friend … who happens to be a dermatologist!
