In a city of 10 million people in Northwest China, there are more than 150 thousand Muslim peoples. Regardless their profession, there’s money to be made in the city and that’s what fills their days.

Day 15 – Young Families

Li is a young mother for the first time. Her baby girl is only 6 months old but already their family has had to be separated as her husband works in another city because he couldn’t find a job in their city. She talks of plans to buy a house and hopes of soon having a life together as a whole family. But for now, she lives with her parents, holding onto the promise of being reunited.

Day 13 – Young Widows

Ning was already fighting an uphill battle. She was born and reared in a Muslim family but became a Christian as a young adult. She and her husband were learning to handle the stress of being the only Christians in their families at the same time as becoming first-time parents. Then Ning’s husband got very sick, very quickly. Even though he fought the battle as hard as he could, he died way too young, leaving behind his wife and baby boy.
